The midfielder netted a brace in the 3-1 victory over FC Porto and emphasized the importance of everyone within the AVS football structure.

After the match, Roni spoke to SportTV following the win against the newly crowned champions in Matchday 33 of the Primeira Liga.

**On the emotions of beating the champions:**

“First of all, with respect, I want to congratulate FC Porto. They deserved to be champions—they’re a very good team.”

“As for us, our second half of the season was a steady improvement. It’s a shame it came too late. Congratulations to the group, who never gave up. Everyone was a warrior—men and people of character. And also congratulations to our coach, who kept us strong in this situation and pushed us to keep working. We had already given Sporting a tough time, and we became the second team to beat FC Porto in the league. That deserves to be remembered, regardless of the circumstances.”

**On AVS’s improvement despite relegation:**

“Some new pieces arrived to help in the second half, and we had more time to work together, which makes me believe this was a team capable of competing in the top flight. It turned out the way it did, and there’s nothing we can do about it now. But we must remember these people of character—every staff member deserves this. Those who take care of our meals, our cleaning—everyone deserves it. We cannot give up for these people, for our families. We must keep fighting.”

**On scoring twice, especially the second goal:**

“Even I couldn’t believe it. As a professional, I think this is the first time I’ve scored two goals in a match, and to do it against FC Porto, the champions, with my left foot and right foot… We train finishing, and, thank God, I was blessed.”
