Netflix is reportedly nearing a deal to stream the 2027 NFL Honors ceremony, signaling the streaming giant’s continued focus on live events rather than full-season sports packages.
According to Ryan Glasspiegel of *Front Office Sports*, the agreement would make Netflix the likely exclusive home for the annual awards show, which traditionally airs on NFL Network and the broadcast network carrying the Super Bowl. An official announcement could come as soon as Wednesday, when Netflix holds its annual “upfront” presentation for advertisers in New York.
The most recent edition of the show averaged 3.7 million viewers—modest by NFL standards but still stronger than most live TV offerings. Netflix will stream five NFL games in 2026, but CEO Ted Sarandos reiterated Tuesday that the company does not want a full-season package for the NFL or any other sport.
